E-Mail (email , mail) system for Plesk 8.4 DONT WORK!

My System: Red Hat 5
v8.4.0_build84080425.19

Problems:
1. I cant send an E-Mail (dont work)
2. I cant redirects EMails! (dont work)
3. I cant send EMails with mail-send via PHP
4. Plesk dont send me an EMail after successfully Installation!

I am sure Parallels Plesk 8.4 Installer has damged the mail system or your software update release has a lot of BUGS!

So Please Parallels speak with us and say us whats going on!

I am having the same issues. Can't login to email using webmail or pop. Using the paid incident support over the past 5 days with no luck. I keep getting the run around about the issue being a hardware issue with the node. Increase memory size for the VE.

This a joke. How many posts are needed before we get some support on the issue?

Thank you,
David

It's not a hardware issue that's for certain. The authentication mechanism for POP/IMAP and SMTP is not functioning correctly and was broken by the 8.4 upgrade. The poppasswd file which should probable have the encrypted passwords in it is empty and hence no one can authenticate.

The problem is occurring with both RPM and DEB package installations.

See http://forum.swsoft.com/showthread.php?t=52609 for more. I've been wracking my brains trying to figure out a solution to this issue and Parallels has not said a word.

Hi there,

We have also faced the same problem after upgrading to Plesk 8.4. The problem is that the installer package dose not upgrade all the packages properly at one go. You have to run the installer once more to get it updated. Better if you do it from Plesk control panel --> updater link where you may find that the base packages are not properly updated. Simply check the box and click install and the problem should be solved. There is also a problem with the poppasswd file under /var/qmail/users/ which becomes a zero byte file after upgradation. You can simply restore the poppasswd file from your previous backup prior to the upgradation.
