Which Linux distribution you recommend and why?

We use CentOS because it's free, because it has a long support lifecycle (7 years instead of for instance 13 months for Fedora), because Atomic Rocket Turtle (http://www.atomicrocketturlte.com/) supports it and because we like Red Hat-style Linux distributions.

CentOS, for all the reasons described above. RHEL/CentOS is the most widely supported distro you'll find by both the community, and commercial companies.

CentOS and RHEL (same thing, choice is based on support level required)
