Hi,

Some 15 - 18 months ago, when I had my first contact with Plesk (at the time, Plesk 7.5.X) I decided to try Plesk’s backup tool. I scheduled a nightly backup to my main website and to my surprise, the following morning this site was offline. I contacted my hosting provider and they told me this was a common problem with this tool and that I should use 4PSA Client Backup. My website never came back online, so I had to copy the content form my old site and create a new site on Plesk.

As you can imagine, I never used Plesk Backup Tool again. Currently I’m searching for a backup solution and wanted to know if you have any experience with Plesk 8.1.1 Backup Tool and 4PSA Client Backup.

Thanks

Just used a complete server backup to restore one of my servers and everything went fine.

Also made a few backups/domain and never had any issue with it.

"4PSA Client Backup vs. Plesk 8.1.1 Backup"

The Plesk Backup system has improved greatly over the past 3 - 6 six months.

4PSA Client Backup is also a great alternative as it uses much less overhead and creates the backup in a non proprietary way. Restoration is also simple.

Both are adequate solutions.
