For upcoming versions of Plesk for Linux, SWsoft is planning on expanding our support for different mail servers. We would like to get feedback from our current Plesk for Linux users on what their preferences would be in regards to these efforts. If you could take a moment and respond to a brief poll, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

We want Postfix support because, unlike qmail, it
doesn't ****.

Noone wants to pay 350€ a year for Dr.Web in an 35€/month Admin Panel ...
This would be a good release for 35€ a month:
- Postfix or qmail
- ClamAV and other AV support
- full spamassassin support
- Blacklist support as you done now
- OWN WRITTEN MAILSCANNER
Things that should be work and fully configureable by every user himself
- Moving Spam Mails to a User configured spam@mailbox
- Deleting Spam Mails
- Only marking messages as spam
- configuring more spamassassin options

I can't wait to see ClamAV officially integrated by SwSoft.
A yearly license of DrWeb for one server costs 299,-.
LOL?
So please include Postfix and ClamAV.

Hi guys,
I recently contacted SWSoft about this (before seeing this topic), and they said that Postfix will be supported in Plesk 8.2, which is due for release within the next week :)

that would be VERY good news!!!
although, if you take a look at the roadmap screenshot it looks like they plan ti add mail servers only in plesk 9.0, due to be released april 2008...
so let's keep our fingers crossed!
can't wait to upgrade my debian box to etch + plesk 8.2 and, hopefully, postfix!! like in good old confixx times :D

At this time, it's my understanding that Plesk 8.2 will support Postfix
as its MTA. Plesk 8.2 is expected to be released at the end of June.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do to assist.

Subject: Use Exim or Postfix instead of qmail
Hi,
I was just wondering whether it is possible to use another MTA (such as
Exim or Postfix) with Plesk? I'm using Plesk 8.1.1 at the moment... Will
this be possible with the Plesk 8.2 release?
Thanks!

- Moving Spam Mails to a User configured spam@mailbox
that, or a user-specified imap directory
mailbox/.spam
there's usually more than one mailbox on a domain, so this would be on a per-user basis instead of a sitewide basis. i cant see a domain with 50 email accounts, and only one spam@mailbox
i do the folder redirect now but i have to deal with lines of procmail and qmail. ehk.
i dont know how its a standard setup that spam either gets deleted or tagged with an ugly [SPAM] or ***SPAM*** tag. just send it to a seperate /spam directory with an automatic delete after 30 days old and we can scan through the folder every once in a while to check.
if a message is deleted, we dont know if it was an legitimate spam and if its just tagged, some of my clients (including myself) are seriously dealing with 300+ spams a day. im not going to weed through 300 spams a day with a ***SPAM*** tag.
can someone please see the light?

for my mailbox, i prefer to reject anyhing tagged 4.0 or higher...
but yes, there should be an option to redirect spam to a spam folder.
also, the spamassassin learing feature should be able to check other folders than the inbox only. especially the spam folder, where email clients often move junk messages in.

No need for voting Postfix any more, SWSoft already to implement this with Plesk 9.

OpenXchange gets my vote. at least make it an option along with postfix.
Can't say I'm too keen on qmail.

Good to hear :-)
Any chance that they might be replacing HORDE with Zimbra ? It has an open version and needed PostFix to work

I don't have any information on that but normally in the Plesk forum there is a feature request post. In my two years working with Plesk I have noticed SWSoft's staff does actually monitor these forums and the requests and they do implement them if it's a constructive suggestion. I haven't been looking for the features request posts lately because Plesk is working really well for our company and I can wait for new features, at the moment I'm enjoying the stability too much to change anything.
