Migration still running

I had a faield attempt with the migration tool.
However in top I still see it runing.

machine has been restarted and they still apear.
Also how do I remove the instance from migration manager.
The Failed migration still shows in migration manager.

Please, be more patient. Plesk Migration manager build its own kernel module. Wait for a few hours, please

Ouch! This thing seems to be run on every multi-processor machine with Plesk! I just installed one more box afresh (bare OS, no Plesk), and this process appeared immediately! Well, seems that that Plesk guys run this process on the all available network machines using some undocumented means (probably broadcast some ill-crafted packets).

And they as usual didn't test their thing enough: it fails to run under non-SMP kernels :)

Or maybe the security hole they use may be exploited only in SMP configuration. Do anyone see any suspicious processes on 2.6.20?

Probably Plesk writes a special migration code to BIOS and Linux kernel starts to repeat migrations again and again even after reboot.

Moreover, it seems like misterious "migration" processes propagate over the Internet! I also having them running, even on hosts without Plesk!

Probably such Plesk behaviour should be reported to CERT!

Well, do you have another Plesk machines in the same local network? I suspect they are using some flaw on link-level ethernet. However, I can't see anything similar in the advisories.

Has anyone figured out how to kill these processes? I checked my migration manager and cleared any left over failed migrations and restarted plesk with no luck. Would be nice if the machine didn't have to load these every time it reboots. Help appreciated.

he's laughing because it is not plesk's migration manager, it is kernel's stuff.. it seems you was confused by 'migration' word, actually it is not PMM.

in simple words, the 'migration' you see is related to plesk migration manager as well as season migrations of lemmings.. i.e. nothing in common..

What is the difference in the configurations.
I have 1 box that was upgraded to 8.1 and these files are only showing 1 instance /0
The one that was installed new as 8.1 has such files running as /0, /1, /2, and /3.


As they don’t appear to be using any resources.
What use are they.

I'm certain this is probably not related to Migration manager as after I got this error I installed another box with the same configuration but elected not to install the migration manager. I still have the same files running.
