Please, please, please change the application vault installations so that no directory is needed for the install. Some of these should be installed in the http or https directory.

Till this is changed it really does not have much value.

I train people to use Plesk and this is the most annoying feature. I always am asked how to change this.

Why bother with PostNuke or Mambo (and others) if they cannot be installed directory into the httpdocs directory?

There are redirection pages that can be used but these are DEADLY for SEO.

I must agree. Is there a work around besides a redirect? I have to admit I'm a bit new to all this.. recently upgraded 7.5, these applications being part of the incentive. I spent about 20 min with the Mambo application install, to pass along instructions to customers, all the while scratching my head trying to figure out why I couldn't get it to install to httpdocs before checking here. I don't quite follow the wisdom. There is little value in having this functionality if apps can't install to web docs root. I do hope this will be addressed.

i agree, this has rendered the application vault quite useless for me (hopefully "yet").

i only can agree with this
my customers always ask me the same thing
only thing i can say is copy the whole thing one level up.
it is very anoying.

for some of the applications copying/moving 1 level means a lot of extra configuration of the coding by someone who knows what they are doing

SWSoft are you going to change this soon?

There are some technical reasons behind this, the most important being the security of your data. 4PSA Integrator can install in the domain root, but it does not use the Application vault engine.
